Challenges
Caltrans had specified a 4″ layer of compost, plus incorporation 6 to 8 inches into the soil for final erosion control before the hydroseed was to be installed. Traffic constrictions meant this would be nearly impossible unless we closed Highway 65 to arrange dump trucks to these areas. In addition, incorporation would be impossible due to the solid rock in certain areas.
How We Solved It
We value engineered the project, replacing the compost and incorporation with Proganics from Profile Products. Proganics is a biotic soil media that produces the proper nutrients and soil conditioning for the native seeds to flourish.

Project Testimonials
“SSEC proposed innovative products for difficult site conditions early on. This helped improved the final product for slope protection and creek lining. SSEC communicated well, broke down items of work for better understanding, and worked fast.”
