Straw & Tack4000 lbs per Acre of Straw |
![]() |
Straw & Tack is a great winterization form of erosion control
when you have not reach final grade. This is the most economical and
commonly used temporary erosion control method.
Straw is pneumatically blown over disturbed areas anchored in place
by Fiber and Tackifer. Generally this erosion control measure requires
removal of Straw & Tack in order to continue dirt moving.
Standard Application $1095 per Acre

Earthguard is another form of erosion control for winterization without
the need to remove the temporary cover from the construction site. This
application is done by a hydroseeder with two separate applications
done cross directionally. Earthguard is Liquid Polyacrylamide that binds
soil particles together.
Application rate depend on terrain.
Standard Application $1395 per Acre
Wood Fiber & Tackifer2000 lbs Wood Fiber |
|
We used this erosion control application for the Angora Fire Stabilization
Project as well as County of San Diego Firestorm. This is recommend
by the state and county agencies. This is done with two separate cross
directional applications with a hydroseeder and can be incorporated
into soil as dirt work allows. Application rate depend on terrain.
Standard Application $1295 Per Acre
Bonded Fiber Matrix (BFM)3000-4000lbs per Acre |
|
BFM is a commonly used by Cal Trans and County agencies. BFM is applied
in three to four applications cross directionally. This is good for
6+ months of coverage.
Application rates depend on terrain
Standard Application $2800 per Acre
Temporary/Permanent Hydroseed/Straw/Tackifer 2000 lbs Wood Fiber |
|
This is a three step process. The first application is fiber, seed and
fertilizer, second application is pneumatically blown straw over the
seeded areas, and the third application is fiber and tackifer. This
allows seedlings to provide vegetation over disturbed area throughout
the rainy season. Application rates depend on terrain.
Standard Application $1695 per Acre
Permanent Earthguard2-4 Gallons of Earthguard |
Earthguard is for areas that need permanent erosion control. This
application is suitable for counties that have air quality control issues.
Permanent Earthguard does not include straw, which is becoming a problem
in most counties, because of the straw dust. Application rates depend
on terrain.
Standard Application $1595 per Acre
Hydrostraw3000-4000 lbs Hydrostraw |
Hydrostraw is a state approved alternative to straw blowing. Hydrostraw
is hydraulically applied through a hydroseeder in cross directional
applications. Application rates depend on terrain.
Standard Application $1495 per Acre

Earthsaver Rice Straw Wattles are made from recycled, naturally weed-free California rice straw. Wattles are available in three types of netting: biodegradable, photodegradable and burlap. Wattles are available in three standard sizes: 9" x 25', 12" x 10' and 20" x 8'.
Purpose:
The wattles imitate natural stabilization by reducing rate of flow,
absorbing water and filtering sediment runoff. By trapping silt and
seed, the wattles allow native vegetation and brush to begin to revegetate
and restore root integrity within one year. Stabilization of the hillside
will eventually transition to the reformed growth as the Wattles decay.
The wattles also forms a durable containment area to prevent polluted
runoff from reaching surface waters.
Costs: Installed $2.00 per LF

About Silt Fence
A silt fence is a temporary sediment barrier consisting of filter fabric
entrenched into the soil and attached to supporting posts. Silt fence
installed with a trencher or by slicing is the most effective installation
method to ensure against common silt fence failures.
Costs: Installed $1.75perLF

Rolled Erosion Control Products (RECPs), consisting of temporary Erosion
Control Blankets (ECBs) and Permanent Turf Reinforcement Mats (TRMs),
have been a popular choice for effective erosion control for a number
of years.
Most ECBs and TRMs are manufactured from organic or synthetic fibers
such as straw, coir (coconut fiber), and excelsior, which are sandwiched
between two or three layers of netting. In most cases, both types of
product are applied over the top of a seeded or planted area and have
a two-fold purpose. One is to help the newly seeded areas maintain moisture,
promoting germination; the second is to provide erosion control until
the vegetation can provide adequate erosion protection on its own. Additionally,
TRMs also provide effective stem and root reinforcement for the maturing
vegetation. Please Call for Pricing
